24/04: This picture was taken in

This photo shows my sister on the Glass Balcony of the Willis Tower, Chicago - it was formerly called the Sears Tower. She must be getting really brave in her old age 'cos I know she hates moments like this.

23/04: Luckenbooth Brooches
We've been selling traditional Scottish jewellery for many years now - and silver luckenbooth brooches are still in demand. Hardly surprising, really, considering that it is said that young men would give a luckenbooth brooch on their engagement to his fiancee; later on, the brooch was pinned onto the shawl of the first-born to ward off evil spirits.
Just goes to show, romance is still alive and well in Helensburgh!

23/04: Helensburgh Chord Project
The time is fast approaching for Helensburgh's sea front and Colquhoun Square to be transformed and made into lovely, contemporary shopping spaces. I guess there will be some disruption - can't make omelettes without breaking eggs - but, on the whole, it looks as if the outcome is going to be fantastic.
We've got our aspirins close by, so we're hoping that the work will go to schedule and be finished later on in the year. Work starts on 7th May on the sea front - we're looking forward to seeing some interesting photographs of the chaos!
