Sterling Silver Luckenbooth Ring

The Luckenbooth Ring is a style of ring which came from France and became popular in Scotland from about the middle of the sixteenth century, through the Auld Alliance and is associated with Mary Queen of Scots.

Luckenbooth  is thought to mean a locked booth where artisans sold their wares - many were found near St Giles in Edinburgh.
