The Three Nornes are ladies in Norse Mythology.

Their names, Urd, Verdandi and Skuld represent the three fates: The Past, The Present and the Future.

These ladies transformed themselves into swans for ease of travel. The Norse God Odin consults the fates for information on his Past, Present or Future.
