Sterling Silver Mary Queen of Scots Luckenbooth Brooch
Our beautifully crafted Luckenbooth brooch takes the form of intertwined hearts surmounted by a crown. Some believe that this design was created to honour Mary, Queen of Scots when she was married to King Francis II of France. It is also supposed that luckenbooth brooches were sold from "locked booths" in Edinburgh's Royal Mile and that a luckenbooth brooch would be given by a young man to his fiancee. This brooch would be pinned on to the shawl of the first born child to ward off evil spirits.
