Product Information

The Scottish Thistle ring features the emblem of Scotland.  Folklore holds that as Vikings attempted an attack at night and raided Scottish villages, they were stung by the thistles thorns and cried out in pain, alerting the villagers to the attack and allowing them to fight back and drive back the invaders. Following this the Thistle was adopted as the floral emblem of Scotland from as early as the late 1200s. We have named our thistle designs after some of the battles in Scotland.

Design John Hart circa 1950-1960.

Supplied with presentation box.

Hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office.
